The Columbia Ramble is a one-way trip intended to be ridden over the course of 9-16 days. Starting at the river’s entrance into the United States in Northeastern Washington, the route follows the river down to The Dalles, Oregon, marking the beginning of the Columbia Gorge. Along the way, riders pass through dams, floodplains, farmland, and a lot of Washington history.
For riders interested in even a longer trip, The Dalles is the starting point of Bikepacking.com’s “Oregon Outback” trail, which rides the length of the state. Riders can also continue through the Columbia Gorge into Portland, OR.
